Welcome to St John’s College, a community where academic ambition, personal growth, leadership and service come together.

Founded in the Catholic tradition of university education, St John’s offers a distinctive collegiate experience in which students are encouraged to pursue excellence, discover their potential and develop the character and conviction to make a meaningful contribution to society. Tempus fugit — time flies. One’s years at university and at College pass quickly, so I always encourage our students to make the most of every opportunity: in their studies, in the friendships they form, in the challenges they embrace and in the contribution they make to the life of our community. The habits, relationships and values they develop here will remain with them long after they leave St John’s.

Our Catholic identity is central to this vision. The College recognises the relationship between faith, knowledge and the pursuit of truth, and invites our students to consider their studies and their lives within the context of God’s presence in the world. As the Gospel of John reminds us, “There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” This spirit of generosity and service is fundamental to the community we seek to build.

St John’s is also proud of its evolving history and traditions. We celebrate the contribution of generations of students and alumni, and particularly the achievements of the women who have helped shape our College since becoming residential students 25 years ago. Their leadership and accomplishments are an important part of our shared story and our future.
