COLLEGE LIFE
Pastoral care
Nourishing the supportive community spirit which pervades St John’s.
Support
The dedicated Pastoral Team is a vital part of student life; the help and support students receive during their time here affect their experiences for the better. The Pastoral Team system has been developed and refined over the last 20 years. Each year the College reviews all aspects of Pastoral Team operations in a quest for continuous improvement.
Who supports you
at the College
Members of the Pastoral Team include Resident Assistants (RAs) (including the two Senior RAs), Corridor Representatives (CRs) and Affiliate Representatives (ARs). They provide guidance, leadership and pastoral support to resident students of St John’s College.
The Senior RAs, RAs and CRs live on student corridors in all College buildings. They help students settle into college life upon arrival and promote a supportive and caring environment which fosters students’ academic success and wellbeing, including healthy lifestyles.
Mentoring, guidance and leadership
Resident Assistants (RAs) and Corridor Representatives (CRs) provide mentoring, guidance and leadership and assist the College in providing the best possible community life for John’s students. Each corridor has its own designated RA or CR who helps students settle into college and university life.
