Scholarships, Bursaries and Prizes

A commitment to providing access opportunities.

St John’s is committed to helping students manage the costs of living at College. Each year, a range of scholarships and bursaries—awarded at the College’s discretion—are available to both commencing and returning students. Scholarships and bursaries

  • Awards vary in amount and are applied directly to your college fees.
  • Scholarships are granted primarily for high academic achievement or outstanding abilities, with financial circumstances also considered.
  • Bursaries are available to Australian citizens and are awarded mainly on the basis of financial need.

To be eligible, you must show that you have explored and exhausted other sources of financial support. Documents required for Scholarship or Bursary applications As part of your application, you’ll be asked to upload:

  • Your end-of-school results (ATAR or equivalent)
  • Your university transcript or published work (if applicable)
  • Details of your own income
  • Your parents’ tax returns and Income Tax Assessments for the two most recent financial years.

All eligible applicants will be considered for every scholarship and bursary they qualify for. In January of the following year, you’ll receive an email with the outcome of your application. If you’re successful, we’ll ask you to sign and return the scholarship terms to confirm your acceptance.
