College is delighted to congratulate long-serving Council member Mrs Christine McNamee Liddy AO on being created a Dame of the Order of St Gregory the Great. Mrs Liddy was one of ten Catholics presented with Papal awards by Archbishop Anthony Fisher at the Chapter Hall at St Mary’s Cathedral on 18 November 2022. Christine’s award cited her “profound philanthropic contribution to the works and mission of the Church over many years both within the Archdiocese of Sydney and across Australia”.

Christine Liddy was a member of the Council of St John’s College for eleven years, from 2010 to 2021, and served as Chair of College Council. Her service to the College was commemorated earlier this year by an engraved stone in Fellows’ Walk in the Quad cloister.
