Student Life Team
Veronica McLoughlin – Director of Student Life
With more than 25 years of experience working across a number of sectors and professional settings, Veronica joins the College as the new Director of Student Life and leader of the Student Life Team. Formerly the Principal at St Dominic’s Centre in Mayfield, Veronica holds a Master of Educational Leadership, a Master of Educational Studies, a Master of Special Education, and a Graduate Diploma in Theology.
Veronica finds the most rewarding experience she has ever had at work has been working with marginalised students and their families to create a sense of belonging and connectedness. Veronica is looking forward to building upon the strong foundations of inclusion and community within the College, to empower the students to recognise and nurture their leadership potential to allow them to become global citizens in contemporary society.
Veronica’s office is in the Hintze building, formerly the Vice Rector’s office, and she encourages students to call in and say hi once they return to College!
Lauren Leaver – Student Services Assistant
An alumna of St John’s College, Lauren is looking forward to reconnecting with the St John’s community. Taking over while our previous Student Services Assistant, Imani Kiam, is on maternity leave, Lauren is excited to be a part of our Student Life Team and is eager to learn every student’s name and develop a relationship with them in 2021.
Formerly working as an EMEA Business Development Manager at CBRE in London, Lauren holds a Bachelor of Economics and Social Sciences and a Master of International Business Management. You can get on Lauren’s good side by asking about her beautiful energetic toddler or the time she trekked to Machu Pichu.
Will Chan – Associate Dean (Academic)
Formerly an Academic Tutor and Resident Tutor at the College, Will is familiar with life at St John’s College and is eager to sink his teeth into academic life at the College as the Associate Dean of Academics in 2021.
Will holds a Bachelor of Design in Architecture (Digital Architecture) (Honours), Master of Science (Architecture for Sustainable Design), and a Dottore Magistrale in Architecture. He is a researcher at Columbia University’s Earth Institute. Will is excited to help foster a culture of academic excellence within the student community and encourage them to become life-long learners.
Isabella Randall – Associate Dean (Sports and Programs)
Previously a member of the 2015 Australian Junior Figure Skating Team and a Sports Administrator at Loreto Normanhurst, Isabella, or Bella as she prefers to be known, is excited to join the Student Life Team for 2021.
Bella is looking forward to developing sports and arts programs that help St John’s students to reach their potential and keep involved in sports and cultural life after high school.
Philanthropy & Alumni Team
Karina Roberts – Associate Director of Philanthropy
Karina has over ten years of international and local fundraising experience in both the not-for-profit and higher education sectors, and holds a Master of Social Work.
Prior to joining St. John’s College, Karina was a Development Officer in the Faculty of Law at UNSW. She was successful in securing a number of major gifts to support scholarships and helped develop pathway programs for the Law Faculty. At UNSW she was also successful in establishing a first of its kind digital alumni to alumni mentoring program.
Karina will head the newly created Philanthropy & Alumni Team and looks forward to working within the St John’s community to establish a best practice philanthropy program and strengthen relationships with our Alumni and supporters of the College.
Margarita Buazon – Advancement and Alumni Coordinator
