St John’s College offers up to $500,000 in scholarships, bursaries and prizes each year to assist new and returning students. These are made possible through the generosity of former students, the College Council and other community benefactors to support students who, for reasons of financial need, would not otherwise be able to enter or remain in College.
Approximately 20% of St John’s students receive financial assistance from the College.
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need, academic excellence and / or outstanding ability. Some scholarships are offered to students from specific backgrounds (i.e. rural, Indigenous) or for students studying in particular faculties.
Scholarships are awarded in the form of a credit against fees, half in Semester 1 and the remainder in Semester 2. Should a student in receipt of a scholarship leave at the end of Semester 1, the second half of the scholarship is forfeit.
2019 Scholarship applications will open in June 2018
