The College has 265 resident students, who are the current visible aspect of St John's, yet we are much more than that.

A College is a continuum embracing past present and even future: the things we do now have been shaped and inspired by those who went before us, and will influence generations of students yet to come.

In a formal sense the College consists of the Rector, 18 Fellows, and the Members (as defined by law) past and present. But the Friends of St John's embrace numbers of other people who are or have been associated with the college in various ways - as parents, perhaps, or as benefactors, or both.
