THE NEW WING - access restrictions, effective immediately
CONSTRUCTION HAS COMMENCED!
On Monday 11 August 2008, the construction of our new building along the Missenden Road alignment began in earnest. Building works are scheduled to take 15 months with a November 2009 completion date, resulting in a new wing with an additional 70 ensuite rooms.
During construction, Pedestrian access to the College from Missenden Road will not always be possible. Pedestrians may access the college via the Freehill Tower during office hours 9 - 5pm Monday - Friday. Otherwise an appointment must be made to visit the College during this building phase. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Until further notice, there will be no vehicle access to the College from the Missenden Road entrance. All vehicle access to the College will be via the Parramatta Road gates, which are located on Parramatta Road, midway between the Ross Street entrance to the University and Missenden Road. Visitor parking will be provided along the ceremonial driveway leading to Freehill Tower. Again, we apologise for any inconvenience.
Should further clarification of the above be required please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sunday 2 November: Opening of the Wardell Exhibition, Wine Tasting and Gourmet Food Fair
A month-long exhibition of the architectural drawings of the College Architect, William Wardell, will be opened formally at the Annual Champagne in the Tower event, following Thanksgiving Mass at 10am. For further details and to order Swinging Bridge wines (with a percentage kindly being donated to St John's 150th Anniversary Capital Appeal), see the Swinging Bridge website.
During the year, there is a possibility of regional dinners in the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Adelaide and Melbourne as well as in London, UK. If you live in these areas and are interested in attending or helping to organise a Johnsmen's dinner in your region, please don't hesitate to contact us.
