Welcome to St John's!

St John's College welcomes visitors, but regrets that during construction of our new building - from August 2008 until late 2009, ALL ACCESS to the College must normally be via our entrance in Parramatta Road. Access from Missenden Road will often be difficult or impossible. Please be patient during this difficult period.

Established in 1857, St John's College within the University of Sydney is the second-oldest residential university college in Australia. We are a co-educational community of 185 student places.

St John's is small by comparison with other colleges, but this is an advantage: the atmosphere is warm and friendly and the students support and encourage each other. There is freedom and space to be yourself and to find fulfilment as a student. In College life, there's always a mentor around every corner to help with student and academic issues.
