Your College experience is not just about hitting the books hard. It’s also a great time to develop lasting friendships and make good memories that you can look back on in years to come.

St John’s has a range of versatile spaces to socialise with your friends.

Communal Common Rooms

Student common rooms are located across the College and are a great place to meet up with your mates and relax. Whether you want to lounge around after a hectic day of classes, study in a comfortable place or watch your favourite TV show, the common rooms are designed to be flexible to cater all students. Each common room is equipped with newspapers, Foxtel and tea & coffee making facilities.

The Quadrangle

The Quad is located in the centre of the College. With two large lawn areas, it’s a relaxing outside space where you can do some morning yoga, play a game of cricket with your mates or have a barbeque with your friends. The Quad is also used as a venue for events held by the College including the Matriculation dinner.

The Dail

The Dail is the social hub of St John’s. Run by the Student Club, the Dail is student bar area and the venue for many student-run events. If you are looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion or hold a party, then the Dail would be the perfect space. Planned renovations will see existing space be reconfigured to become the new Dail.

The College has a strict policy on the supply of alcohol. Any alcohol supplied and consumed within College must adhere to the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) program. The College is a member of the University of Sydney Liquor Accord and all events held at the College must apply with the Liquor Accord principles and guidelines.
